Xyloglucan is a hemicellulose with a natural ability to adsorb to cellulose fibers. It is soluble in water and can be chemically modified and adjusted to a desired property. This makes xyloglucan very useful for modification of cellulose fibers, as the alteration can be performed without loss of fiber integrity and strength. Xyloglucan is commercially obtained from tamarind kernel which is a waste product.
Cellutech has extensive knowledge in working with xyloglucan for the purpose of modifying cellulose fibers. Contact us if you want to learn more about how we can custom-make xyloglucan derivatives to fit your application.
